Due to take place on 16 February 2011 in the UK, the Institute of Acoustics (IOA) is hosting a seminar called 'Acoustic Challenges in Green Buildings' in response to new legislative targets set by the UK Government.
Designed to make all new homes 'zero carbon' by 2016, every aspect of construction is now in the spotlight, and in need of discussion and agreement. 'In particular, acoustic considerationas are now becoming more and more crucia as new technologies and desig methods are being introduced in a bid to meet the new targets,' the IOA reports.
In response, the IOA is staging the discussion and is inviting abstracts of up to 200 words are on specific aspects of acoustic design including noise and vibration considerations relating to sustainable buildings for the future. More details here.
