Roland Systems Group has released the VC-30HD Video Converter, aimed at streaming and capture applications including live production, postproduction and webstreaming.

The VC-30HD is a multi-input video converter and encoding device that accepts HDMI, Component, composite, S-Video, Firewire and analog or digital audio via RCA, XLR, and AES-EBU. The unitcan be set to convert to DV, HDV, or MPEG-2 formats.

The VC-30HD combines audio and video sources together and encodes to both a Firewire and USB stream simultaneously. Offering a capture solution for NLEs on both Mac and PC platforms, it can be used to pull source material from almost any device, and used to convert audio and video content for web streaming applications or archiving and content to Blu-ray.

With two independent Firewire ports, the VC-30HD can also be used as a bridge communication device between two computers, or a camera and a Blu-ray/DVC recorder.

The VC-30HD joins a lineup of video converters that includes the VC-300HD, VC-200HD and VC-50HD models used for live and postproduction applications.
