AKG has released the BBB Dfive, a reworked version of its D5 that is aimed expressly at human beatbox performance.

In order to optimise D5 for beatboxing use, it has a more effective internal windscreen than the D5, which tat prevents unwanted explosive sounds without altering the sound of the microphone.

‘The response to BBB DFive has been overwhelmingly favorable,’ explained Alfred Reinprecht, VP of Marketing, AKG. ‘We are pleased to see our beatbox-focused mic is even more popular now among these sophisticated acoustic performance artists. This microphone is becoming the new standard tool for beatboxing.’

The mic made its performance debut at the German Beatboxing Championships in Berlin this February. The two finalists also used their BBB DFive Beatbox microphones at major German TV shows.
