JoeCo has ventured into the desktop audio interface market with Cello, a 22 input, four output USB 2.0 interface.

Offering a true analogue front end for both Mac and PC, Cello supports 384kHz recording and 125dB dynamic range, with a tactile control surface. Cello’s preamp design was developed in house and uses Adaptive Conversion technology – new ADC and DAC filtering options to enable users to tailor sample rate and performance to a recording source. At the heart of Cello’s appeal is JoeCo’s reliability, established through the behind the BlackBox range of professional multitrack recorders and BlueBox interface recorders.

Other Cello features include a built in talkback microphone and on-board monitor controls. At the front end, the two microphone inputs include discrete analogue mic preamps with 80dB gain, hi-pass filter, pad and phase reverse, with two dedicated preamp-only channels to ensure signal purity.

Inserts points are incorporated in both mic channels for outboard equipment. S/PDIF and 16 channels of Adat Lightpipe input are provided for use with external preamps. Mastering grade monitor outputs ensure the best results, while the unit can also accept external wordclock.
