PreSonus has announced the Revelator io24 USB-C audio interface, offering high-headroom mic preamps, a two-channel loopback mixer and extensive processing for streaming, podcasting, and music production.
The Revelator io24 audio interface is designed for both recording and streaming, with an easy-to-use mixer for recording Zoom calls or Skype interviews, and adding backing tracks and sound effects for podcasts, live stream performances and music production. Stream Mix mode routes the mix – analogue inputs, loopback channels, reverb and effects – routed to the USB output for delivery to streaming software.
Two analogue mic/instrument/line inputs with PreSonus’ professional-grade XMax-L microphone preamps – that can be stereo linked – allow high-quality production front-end. Two balanced quarter-inch line outputs, a high-powered headphone output, professional metering, and zero-latency monitoring accompany recording at up to96kHz/24-bits to the included Studio One Artist or other recording and production software.
Revelator io24’s simple loopback mixer makes it easy to add backing tracks to livestream performances or conference in a Zoom caller to a podcast. Two dedicated stereo channels for loopback audio on macOS or Windows support simultaneous mixing and recording of audio from two different applications, along with the two analogue input channels. Remote control of mixes, processing and routing is possible using PreSonus Universal Control software (macOS, Windows, iPad, and Android). Stream Mix mode turns Revelator io24 into the a compact streaming mixer.
Each input channel can be processed with PreSonus’ Fat Channel DSP, which provides a high-pass filter, 4-band parametric EQ, compressor, gate and limiter, alongside detuner, vocoder, ring modulator, filters, and delay for creating effects. A dedicated reverb adds ambience.
Revelator io24 locally stores two presets per channel, and eight factory presets can be loaded from Universal Control for fast, no-sweat processing. Fat Channel processing also is fully editable. Presets are available for each processor to make custom channel settings. Revelator io24’s compressor and EQ models and otherfunctions are accessed in Advanced mode, exposing a fully editable Fat Channel with State-Space-modelled vintage processors.
Revelator io24 comes with software, including Studio One Artist and the Studio Magic Suite, which includes Ableton Live Lite, an impressive collection of virtual instruments and effects plug-ins. Revelator io24 is available immediately at a street price of US$199.95.
