UNiKA has introduced the Pro-BT5 and Pro-USB DI boxes for the integration of smartphones, tablets and computers as audio sources into professional audio environments.
The Pro-USB provides high-quality DA conversion at up to 192kHz/32 bits for computers via USB-C. Part of the Pro series from UNiKA, both Pro-BT5 and Pro-USB harness an all-new transformer design as well as solid steel housings.
The Pro-BT5 uses Bluetooth 5.0 for its audio transmission. The digital signal is then translated into analogue audio with a resolution of 44.1kHz/16 bits for wireless music playback from mobile devices. A transmission range of up to 35m makes the DI applicable to larger venues. Power supply can be handled through a standard smartphone charger or a power bank, providing 5V of power via USB-C.
The Pro-USB interface functions as a professional-level audio interface with USB-C plug-and-play operation for all systems without the requirement for drivers. Being the first DI box with USB-C, the Pro-USB allows recent smartphones, tablets and laptops to be used on stage or in the studio. The high-quality DA conversion works with up to 32 bits/192kHz, supporting all common formats including Direct Stream Digital (DSD).
Both the Pro-BT5 and Pro-USB feature a 3.5-mm monitor output for headphones. A dedicated, stepped volume knob controls the headphone level. The balanced XLR stereo outputs transmit the signal over long distances to mixing consoles, preamps or active speakers. LEDs signal operation status and data transfer. The fine electronics are built into a sturdy steel housing with a foam pad on the bottom to prevent the devices from slipping.
UNiKA Pro-BT5 and UNiKA Pro-USB are distributed through Mega Audio to Europe, the Middle East and Africa, and are available immediately. The MSRP for each device is €191 (exc. VAT).
