PreSonus has announced the NSB 32.16 32x16 AVB networked stagebox for its StudioLive Series III mixers, further expanding the company’s StudioLive ecosystem of AVB networkable products.
As with the NSB 16.8 and NSB 8.8 stageboxes, the NSB 32.16 transports signals to and from an AVB Ethernet network over Cat5e or Cat6 cable, allowing expansion of StudioLive Series III mixers with limited onboard analogue I/O to a full 32- or 64-input mixing system. A built-in two-port AVB switch allows daisy-chaining of multiple units.
The NSB 32.16 provides 32 locking combo mic/line inputs with PreSonus’ digitally-controlled, class-A XMax mic preamps; 32 balanced TRS, quarter-inch, line-level inputs; 16 balanced XLR, line-level analogue outputs; and two stereo AES3 digital outputs on XLR connectors. Input trim, phantom power and other parameters can be remotely controlled from a StudioLive Series III console or using PreSonus UC Surface macOS, Windows, iPadOS and Android control software.
Like all NSB-series stageboxes, the NSB 32.16 can provide inputs for multiple StudioLive Series III digital mixers on an AVB network, so it’s possible to send audio from the stage to a front-of-house mixer, monitor mixer or broadcast desk all from the same NSB 32.16.
Additionally NSB-series stageboxes feature onboard DSP that provides gain compensation on every input, enabling each mixer on the network to make gain adjustments relative to the level set on the master mixer. In this way, every mixer can adjust the preamp level locally for optimal gain staging.
The NSB 32.16’s steel chassis is designed to survive the rigours of the road and features adjustable rack ears, so you can choose between flush or recessed, as well as front or rear, I/O installation. Thanks to its standard 3U-high, 19-inch design, the NSB 32.16 is also compatible with most universal stage pockets for permanent installations.
