Sommer Cable has launched a new multicore cable series for use with large-scale line arrays. SC-Elephant Robust SPM2440 is robust, but very flexible and especially designed for tough everyday stage work.
Sommer has wrapped the new 4.0sq-m sq cable in a considerably reinforced jacket as, when array speakers are run at high SPLs, they can become overheated. As a result, maximum performance is needed from the cable, requiring a much thicker jacket – SPM2440’s cable jacket has stage-proof ruggedness and impact resistance but is highly flexible and easy to spool. An added benefit of custom jacket stability is the smoother surface – the cable is less susceptive to dirt and thus easier to clean, resulting in optimum conditions for a long-life and ideal for stage applications. Sommer's special wire stranding ensures loss-free transmission.
For popular speaker multi-pin connectors (HI-LK008, NL8, NLT8, LKS25) the outer diameters of the SC-Elephant Robust SPM2440 cable versions are designed to make assembly easy. Well insulated and numbered wires further simplify the process.
The 24x 4.0sq-m version of SC-Elephant Robust SPM2440 is used primarily in the field of large-size line arrays or professional PA/sound reinforcement systems at major events. Further versions are available.
