German manufacturer Ferrofish has announced the Pulse 8 AE, an 8-channel AD/DA converter with Adat connectivity for use in demanding studio and live sound environments.
With its eight high-quality analogue inputs and outputs, the Pulse 8 AE supports integration of mixing consoles, synthesisers, drum machines, and other instruments into a studio workflow. Internally, it uses selected ESS converter chips delivering conversion up to 192kHz with professional +20dBu headroom.
Like the larger Pulse 16, the Pulse 8 AE makes it easy to add additional channels of high-resolution audio via any Adat-enabled audio interface.
The Pulse 8 AE introduces single-channel routing, enabling users to assign and manage each individual channel. Inputs can be routed to any chosen output via a matrix window, for flexibility where custom routing is critical. Remote control is also possible via Mac and PC using Ferrofish’s RemoteFish control software.
The Ferrofish Pulse 8 AE is also suited to live environments, as a reliable tool for recording and playback. Its compact and robust build quality, coupled with premium AD/DA conversion, ensures professional-grade audio for capturing performances and handling multichannel playback.
The compact size of the unit ensures users can start small and scale up as needed, while the single-channel routing unlocks possibilities for detailed signal management if required.
The Ferrofish Pulse 8 AE has a UK MSRP of £519.99, and is available now through selected pro audio retailers.
