Klark Teknik has released the DN9610 AES Repeater – an ‘easy to use, cost-effective solution for extending AES50 multichannel digital audio network connections’.
The unit allows Cat5e/Cat6 networks to be operated over greater distances than previously achievable, using two independent ports to support individual AES50 streams to 100m (330ft). Multiple DS9610s can be daisy-chained for longer runs. Each AES50 feed can carry 24 bidirectional channels at 96kHz or 48 bidirectional channels at 48kHz.
In operation, AES 50 lines are connected to the DN9610 inputs and Cat5e/Cat6 feeds to the outputs. The DN9610 features LEDs that indicate AES50 activity of the inputs and puts of both feeds, a power LED and two power supply inputs for redundancy.
The DN9610 is housed in a rugged, compact, alloy case, and enclosed in a shock-absorbing silicone sleeve, and is no larger than most professional DI boxes.
