Software provider Stardraw.com has added a Cable Presets to its design and documentation software, Stardraw Design 7.

Cable Presets provide the ability to set up, save and re-use custom data and formatting for cables, to simplify and speed up the creation and editing of drawings using A/V system interconnections.Stardraw.com’s Rob Robinson says Cable Presets represent one of the most requested features for SD7.

The feature comprises a collection of settings that allow users to predefine the characteristics of the cables represented in schematic drawings. Among the parameters that can be set are cable colour, styling, labels, data attributes (such as start connector, end connector, description, model number, length) and the layer that a cable might occupy. Cable Presets are fully customisable so that any property can be adjusted at any time and, through the use of Cloud services, they are also fully portable – settings are associated with each user’s personal account and stored on the Cloud.

The result is an accelerated drawing process, which assists productivity and provides a straightforward means of standardising drawings both in terms of their look and the data they contain. A video tutorial available on the Stardraw.com website and Stardraw’s YouTube channel demonstrates Cable Presets in under ten minutes.
