Outline has released the DVS 8 SP and DVS 10 SP enclosures, recently presented at the Frankfurt Pro Light & Sound show. The self-powered, compact and lightweight systems are intended for multi-purpose applications, particularly live events.
DVS 8 SP is equipped with a new 8-inch mid-woofer combined with a compression driver with a 1-inch diaphragm and ensures a sound pressure level of 123dB (peak @ 1m). DVS 10 SP is fitted with a 10-inch woofer combined with a compression driver with a 1.75-inch diaphragm and ensures a sound pressure level of 127.5dB. Signal management is handled by 24-bit DSP and provides four (selectable) presets.
As far as the electro-acoustic aspects are concerned, the cutting edge technology adopted by Outline in the moulding sector has enabled the company to manufacture horns that are rigid and lighter, with obvious benefits in terms of distortion and lower weight.
The panel of the amplification module (on the rear) is formed by numerous small aluminium pyramids to ensure high heat dissipation and contribute to increased reliability. The shape of the cabinets in the new DVS series enables them to be used as stage monitors at two angles (25° or 45°). There are also new user-friendly handles, designed to ensure weight is balanced during transport, as well as flying points with M8 metric threads, to facilitate hanging.
