DAS Audio has announced the Event-28A, an ultra-compact, lightweight line array element for small to mid-size rental and installation applications.
The lightweight polymer cabinet is loaded with two 8-inch neodymium LF transducers and a single M-60 compression driver powered by high-efficiency class-D amplification with SMPS. The symmetrical V-shaped configuration of the cone transducers delivers consistent 100º horizontal coverage down to 200Hz. The M-60 compression driver remains coupled to an advanced waveguide design, which controls the vertical dispersion and ensures precise coupling between units in vertical arrays.
Powered by a two-channel class-D amplifier served by high-quality Neutrik XLR and powerCON connectors, the Event-28A boasts 1.3kW peak power. Using the DAScontrol interface, users can quickly select presets based on the number of units in the array. The onboard DSP uses a 24-bit high-end processor to manage crossover, EQ, delay, and limiter functions. Incorporating FIR filtering technology, the unit maintains constant phase response, leading to transparent sound and exceptional clarity that enhances the overall listening experience.
Installation and deployment of Event-28A arrays are streamlined with the Fast Set Splay (FSS) rigging system, which allows for quick angle selection while stacked on dollies. The stainless-steel rigging hardware supports flown arrays of up to 16 units, adjustable in 1º increments from 0º to 10º.
The Event-118A is a companion subwoofer with a single 18-inch front-loaded woofer and class-D amplification. Both Event boxes feature compatible rigging hardware and easy system configuration via DAScontrol.
