Danish installed sound loudspeaker manufacturer Blaze Audio has launched the BL18S, a high-power passive subwoofer designed by loudspeaker designer Hugh Sarvis.
The BL18S completes the CBL series from Blaze Audio and is designed to integrate with the company’s CBL523 and CBL528 Constant Beamwidth Loudspeakers to provide a complete full-range audio system for small to medium-sized venues that require scalable and versatile low-frequency solutions.
Designed primarily for freestanding installations, the BL18S features an 18-inch bass driver housed in a reflex-loaded enclosure, delivering low-frequency bandwidth down to 31Hz at -10dB, with maximum sound pressure levels reaching 136dB at 1m. For added convenience, the unit comes with casters that can be fitted to the rear panel, facilitating easy handling and installation in hybrid venues.
For optimal performance, the BL18S should be driven by Blaze Audio’s PowerZone Connect amplifiers, starting at 3kW, and with the appropriate presets congured. Multiple BL18S subwoofers can be installed in arrays and congured via amplifier presets to deliver either omnidirectional or cardioid directivity characteristics.
