Peavey has released the TriFlex II two-channel portable sound system aimed at live sound reinforcement, DJs and music playback applications.
TriFlex II is a complete sound system providing 1kW of power through a three-speaker set-up – a subwoofer plus two satellite speakers with 10-inch woofers and Peavey RX14 1.4-inch titanium compression drivers on Quadratic Throat Waveguide horns.
The system chassis is housed in the subwoofer enclosure and includes all electronics – two-channel preamp, crossover and filter – as well as the three power amps. For easy transport, the subwoofer can be turned onto its 3-inch castors, with the satellite speakers secured in the sub's grille cavity. A cover with pockets to store mics and cables is also provided.
Once in position, the two satellite speakers are removed and the subwoofer turned onto its rubber feet so the preamp controls, inputs and outputs are positioned at the top rear of the enclosure. The satellite loudspeakers feature pole mounts for placing on speaker stands to disperse the sound to the audience. These speakers also have a 45° back angle so they can be used as floor monitors.
The TriFlex II enclosures are constructed of sturdy 18mm MDF with internal bracing and coated with a tough black acrylic paint finish, and feature a 16-gauge perforated metal grille for durability.
