With the Xcellence Series, Master Audio wanted to create a sound reinforcement system ‘that would respond to any challenge, with an exceptional quality standard in every detail’. The new X210 System combines this philosophy with the latest technical developments from the company’s R&D, offering a scalable, flexible solution for all kinds of high-performance applications.
The compact system is intended for discos, concert halls, houses of worship, stadia and open air live events (up to 5,000 people with a 6-8 unit configuration by column), thanks to its 120º nominal horizontal coverage. It offers a smart rigging system for quick and easy set-up of several flying and stacking options. It also has built-in DSP covering parametric EQ, gain, limit threshold, delay and phase. These parameters can be adjusted through PC via Ethernet (RJ-45 or Wi-Fi) with DSPStudio software, which also allows the status of the system to be monitored in real time.
The system is fully protected against overvoltage at the mains (>250V up to 400V), and has a Standby mode that reduces power consumption while it is not being used.
Acoustical simulations can be made through Ease Focus software, predicting the acoustical response and mechanical setup of an installation ahead of arrival.
The system is an auto-amplified solution in tandem. One X210A active unit provides the amplification and DSP control and feeds one X210P passive slave unit. This pair offers a power of 3kW with third-generation class-D amplification. Each unit delivers 134 dB SPL musical programme (one pair 140dB). Each unit has two 10-inch Neodymium woofers and three 1-inch Neodymium drivers, using Master Audio’s proprietary planar waveguide.
The system offers two options for bass reinforcement – the X215W active subwoofer with two 15-inch long-excursion woofers delivering 2.4kW from a triple chamber acoustic design that allows flying and stacking configurations without any additional hardware, and two 18-inch long-excursion woofers of the X218W active subwoofer, with third-generation 2.4kW class-D amplification. Master Audio claims that its DSP, presets, cardioid configuration, Ethernet connectivity make it ‘one of the most advanced and powerful subwoofers on the market’.
