Grund Audio Design has announced the GQ Series of loudspeakers for performing musicians and DJs, as well as event production, corporate A/V and education.
The GQ Series comprises the GQ-10, GQ-12. GQ-15, GQ-153 and GQ-18S models. The GQ-10, GQ-12 and GQ-15 are two-way designs using a 1-inch compression driver with rotatable horn mated to a low-frequency driver. The GQ-153 is a three-way design with a 1-inch compression driver with rotatable horn, an 8–inch mid driver and 15-inch low-frequency driver. The GQ-18S is a sub bass system, featuring an 18-inch transducer in a bass reflex enclosure.
The GQ-10 and GQ-12 can also be positioned on the side for use as floor monitors. The GQ-10, GQ-12 and GQ-15 all have pole cups for the pole cup-equipped GQ-18S subwoofer – effectively creating a full range ‘speaker on a stick’ set-up.
GQ Series models range in power from 200W-800W. The multichannel inputs on the amplifiers include an XLR balanced microphone input, a quarter-inch line input, and RCA inputs for use with CD players and similar equipment, and any two sources can be mixed internally.
All GQ Series loudspeakers are finished in a durable, black polyurethane coat that is resistant to scrapes and helps protect the inner components from moisture and dirt.
‘The ability to pole mount the GQ-10, GQ-12, or GQ-15 on top of the GQ-18S subwoofer creates an easy to transport, full range sound reinforcement system that delivers a high level of speech intelligibility and clear, natural sounding music reproduction,’ says Frank Grund, President of Grund Audio Design. ‘The powered models have versatile mixing capability that makes them a terrific choice for schools, corporate A/V and education usage. I’m confident these loudspeakers are well-suited to a wide range of general sound reinforcement applications.’
The passive GQ Series loudspeakers are expected to be available in Q1 2014, with the Active GQ Series loudspeakers to follow. MSRP pricing has not yet been determined.
