Vue Audiotechnik and Ashly Audio have both added Dante networking to the capabilities of ther equipment.
With the recent unveiling of the Dante Ultimo chip, all Vue Audiotechnik DSP systems support Dante functionality. Ultimo allows the Vue h-class and V Series systems to operate in any Dante environment, with routing of audio streams for each individual Dante-enabled product.
‘We’d been waiting for a cost-effective solution for audio-over-Ethernet, and Dante has clearly become the industry standard for audio networking.’ says Vue Audiotechnik CEO, Ken Berger. ‘The Dante Ultimo chipset allows us to include full network functionality at a reasonable cost for our customers. Now that it’s here, we’re updating our DSP products to include the technology.’
The Dante Ultimo chip is well suited to use in speaker systems that require only a single or pair of input streams. Providing full Dante input capabilities, Ultimo allows Vue speakers to become a complete Dante network clients, taking them into environments where there is already Dante infrastructure in place, such as theme parks and stadia.
‘We look forward to designing systems with our partners that can take advantage of the full capabilities of a networked environment’ Berger says. ‘We designed these products as a direct response to requests from customers on large-scale projects who were looking for an Audio-over-Ethernet solution. So, it was something we always intended to do. Now that it’s possible, we’re rolling it out. As far as we know, the h-Class is the first of any speaker in its class to have Dante on-board as standard.’
Ashly Audio, meanwhile, had made its nXe, nXp, Pema and NE Series networkable amplifiers and signal processors Dante capable.
‘Our team is committed to supporting the network audio installer and consultant communities,’ says Anthony Errigo, Director of Marketing Communications. ‘Our partners cover a wide range of installations from small pizza shops to large stadium venues, and we want them to have all the audio tools readily-available to suit their environment. We’ve dedicated resources to make Dante fully-functional within this product category. Dante has simplified the transport linkage between our products and various endpoints throughout the audio system – and we’re very pleased with where this technology is headed.’
