Lectrosonics HHLectrosonics has added the HH Handheld Transmitter to its line of Digital Hybrid Wireless microphone systems. A handheld microphone, it is aimed at presenters, educators and houses of worship.

The new transmitter accepts standard thread-on capsules from a number of manufacturers, giving freedom to select a capsule that is best suited to a particular application, although there are two capsules available from Lectrosonics – the HHC cardioid condenser and HHS supercardioid condenser.

The HH transmitter offers 44dB of input gain range and is equipped with a membrane switch control panel/high-resolution LCD. Designed to allow intuitive operation and set-up, the menu-driven system gives access to essential operating parameters, including operating frequency, audio modulation level, battery status and additional information.

The transmitter also has a talkback feature that enables communication between the performer and, for example, front of house engineer. A firmware update adding talkback mode for the Lectrosonics Venue receiver system will be announced shortly.

The unit is powered by 2 AA batteries and offers selectable RF power at 50mW or 100mW. It will be available in all Lectrosonics standard frequency blocks for both US and export markets.

‘Our customers have asked for a number of features in this new handheld,’ says Karl Winkler, Lectrosonics Director of Business Development. ‘To make the product rider-friendly, the HH accepts standard thread-on capsules. For longer run time, it uses AA batteries and, for ease of use, it has an intuitive interface with membrane buttons and an LCD. Finally, it’s a really compact package that fits in the hand nicely. Advanced features like the talkback function are icing on the cake.’

The HH Handheld Transmitter is expected to carry MSRP pricing of US$1,500 (without capsule), HHC cardioid condenser capsule US$540 and HHS supercardioid condenser capsule US $658. Availability is set for Q3, 2011.
