The Lectrosonics SSM is a miniature radio transmitter aimed at sound engineers struggling with a tight space or demanding talent.
In spite of its small size (55mm x 35mm x 15mm), the SSM offers an extensive feature set and performance on par with all Lectrosonics models. Frequencies are selectable in 100kHz or 25kHz steps across a tuning range of 75MHz – a total of around 3,000 available frequencies across three standard frequency blocks. The servo bias input accepts mic or line level signals with a wide range of gain adjustment in 1dB steps.
Accurate LED indications on the keypad allow precise gain adjustments to be made for the maximum signal to noise ratio and minimum distortion. The limiter in the preamp can cleanly handle signal peaks over 30dB above full modulation, allowing the input gain to be set high enough to achieve the maximum signal to noise ratio, yet provide protection against input overload.
Power is provided by a slim lithium-ion rechargeable battery. A compatible dual charger is included in the package, along with a choice of mounting clips. SSM is compatible with existing analogue Lectrosonics camera slot receivers, and the new wideband Venue 2 rackmounted product.
Un the UK, the Lectrosonics SSM is handled by RF specialist, Raycom.
