Proving the value of the right choice of distribution channel, it took IbizaPA only six weeks to finalise two major installations for UK loudspeaker manufacturer Void Acoustics.
Having recently re-opened, controversial daytime club DC-10 now has a sizeable Void triple-horn Air Motion – installed for promoters Circo Loco in nine days from order to completion. The new Sands Beach Restaurant is also home to a Void installation, featuring an all-white Air Ten system in its White Bar.
‘Ibiza’s club environment is very image-conscious and a perfect match for our brand’s combination of eye-catching speaker design and excellent sound quality,’ director Alex Skan explains, having eyed the potential of the Ibizan market for a while. IbizaPA was established three years ago, quickly establishing a reputation for its work on local events and installations.‘We started working with IbizaPA earlier this year when they purchased their own Air Motion system for the summer season, and were impressed at their enthusiasm and drive,’ Skan adds. ‘They have made a real impact with these two installations, and we are getting a great response from everyone that has heard our systems. Things are looking good for a successful summer season for Void in Ibiza.’
The DC-10 installation represents a major coup, with the club re-opening after a chequered history with the local authorities, resulting in its closure in 2009. Located in a former airport hangar close to the runway at Ibiza Airport, DC-10 is the traditional venue for daytime partygoers, opening in the morning as the ever-popular Space club closes. The Void system comprises eight triple-horn Air Motions, complemented by 6 Stasys X low-frequency cabinets, with Ibiza PA turning the installation around in record time. At Sands, the complete system comprises four Air Tens together with Basys B15s, Infinite 6 amplifiers and Void’s Digidrive loudspeaker management system. ‘We are getting great comments on the Void system at Sands, with our opening party hosted by Sander Kleinenberg, who kicked off his latest tour here,’ says club owner Jason Bull. ‘He really enjoyed testing the system to the limit.’
