The Love GOSH annual fundraiser developed by Great Ormand Street Hospital charity, GOSH, has raised more than £3.2m over the course of three appeals and is currently working towards a Children’s Cancer Centre. Key its donation activities are events that help the children’s healthcare facility to gather supporters through live entertainment. Recently, Britannia Row Productions client Duran Duran performed at the charity’s winter event.

More recently, Britannia Row returned for another evening of fundraising endeavors at The Peninsula London, a high-end hotel in the heart of Belgravia, where singers Pixie Lott and Sophie Ellis-Bextor performed alongside a set from DJ Sigala.

Sophie Ellis-BextorWorking on behalf of corporate production specialists Metro Production Group, Britannia Row Account Executive Tom Brown oversaw audio design and equipment delivery fielded an L-Acoustics PA system and supporting technical personnel.

‘Since 2024, Metro Production Group has supplied set and staging to Love GOSH as our client wanted to up the production values,’ says Metro Production Manager, Richard Sheehan. ‘When we had Duran Duran joining us at an additional winter event, Britannia Row became the obvious audio partner. When Britannia Row came in, they had a great blend of rock n roll expertise for our corporate setting.’

The main system comprised A Series loudspeakers – A15 Focus and A15 Wide boxes on the ground, flown 5XT two-way passive point source speakers, A10 Focus and A10 Wide for flown out fill, ground arranged KS28 subwoofers and more A10 Focus units for delays. A Yamaha PM Series console package took care of the mixes, comprising CS-R3 Rivage PM3 and a Yamaha Rivage PM DSP-R10 with a DSP engine, plus a Yamaha Rivage RPio622 I/O Rack.

Shure technology led on IEMs with Axient Digital Handhelds and PSM1000s, while Clear-Com Freespeak and Riedel Communications Bolero were chosen for comms systems. A wealth of microphones including Shure, Audix, Sennheiser, AKG and Electro-Voice models were used on the stage.

‘I’ve been working in this industry for a long time, but I’d never personally worked with Britannia Row prior,’ Sheehan says. ‘Tom Brown, Dave Compton [Duran Duran Account Executive] and the on-site technical crew were all fantastic. The engineering skills were excellent, and everyone was lovely to deal with. Ultimately, the quality of audio for bands, presenter speech and playback were of the highest level with them on board. My colleagues all took the time to point this out.

‘It’s so helpful from an audio perspective and it certainly took the live performance pressure away having Britannia Row there. We worked brilliantly together, and the events were a huge success for the hospital.’
