Billing itself as China’s most high-end consumer entertainment venue, Guangzhou’s Hyper Club offers a blend of traditional values and modern culture, with striking interior design.
The club has set itself apart from the competition, not least with its audio. Comprised of a d&b audiotechnik loudspeaker system with a TiMax2 SoundHub providing real-time audio show control for live shows and DJs, the audio design alone places the club on theleading edge of China’s entertainment scene.
Originally a Western style house, the Hyper Club has been redesigned as a European Baroque palace and occupies around 3,500-sq-m over four floors. The main club area is situated on the ground floor, while the second floor houses a VIP bar; the third has the Lounge Bar; and an outdoor bar is at the building’s top.
System Integrator Dragon Studio worked with Hong Kong distributor SWS to design and install the club’s sound system. A single d&b Ci7-Top and d&b Ci7-Sub, with a further d&b Ci-Sub form the main club loudspeakers. In addition,16 d&b Max, d&b Max 12 and d&b E8 are distributed around the main club floor. The VIP area fields a further 16 d&b Max 12 boxes, and upstairs in the Lounge are 14 d&b E8 and E15X-Subs.
‘Hyper Club wanted to set itself apart on every level, and the sound system with d&b speakers and TiMax SoundHub spatialisation is very sophisticated and spectacular for a club in China,’ says Freddie To, of TiMax distributor, SWS Hong Kong.
