Delta Sound reports the successful completion of several prestigious and ambitious projects with Merging Technologies’ Ovation Audio & Event Sequencer.
The companies’ partnership began in the UK and quickly expanded to Delta’s offices in the Middle East, where increasingly complex events are in the ascendancy. Delta has demonstrated the ability to provide world-class systems expertise combined with the technical support necessary to ensure that major events run trouble free.
The logical move was to appoint regional sales arm Delta AV Solutions as the regional distribution and sales partner for the A/V market sector, with Delta Sound Dubai providing technical support, demo and rental expertise.
Delta Sound’s Middle East operation is led by Andy Jackson, originally from the UK, but who has devoted the past ten of his 25-plus years’ experience in the audio industry working in Dubai. Here he has assembled a team of vastly experience engineers from all over the world, and also employs graduates from local colleges in Dubai, offering training and a ‘doorway’ to a very competitive industry. Delta Sound LLC was established in Dubai in 2007 and works with its own personnel and equipment to service its client base across the Middle East. The company has the largest inventory of sound equipment, communications and engineers in the region, specialising in large-scale events and concerts. It has also participated in some of the largest and highest-profile events not only in this region, but also in the rest of the world. In 2009 Delta Sound Qatar was launched and runs both a rental and retail establishment.
‘Delta has been involved in some of the largest jobs in the region from a sound design and equipment delivery aspect,’ says Jackson. ‘It is vital that Delta is seen to be using the most technologically advanced and reliable systems available. We have been using Merging products for the last year including Pyramix and Ovation software, as well as the Horus and Hapi interfaces. We have successfully deployed the equipment on very high-profile events with excellent results.’
Some of those notable events were indeed massive with the National Day Celebrations for Dubai and Abu Dhabi, most recently under Ovation control. The Dubai celebrations featured an impressive fireworks display which has become a speciality for Delta. The London’s 2015 New Year’s Eve fireworks was managed by the parent company and was also driven from Ovation. Major sporting events, national celebrations and major musical events all present opportunities for Ovation to be the problem solver.
‘Delta Sound has used Merging solutions on a variety of extremely complex projects internationally and with great success.’ Says Merging Product Manager, Johan Wadsten. ‘Whether we are looking at major infrastructure projects like the Gatwick Skybridge, the Commonwealth Games, a major car launch or a musical event, Delta has developed the potential of Ovation to provide an exciting audience experience. This type of event is becoming much more common in the Middle East and we can see that the local Delta Sound operation is the only company able to tackle this degree of complexity. I am really excited to welcome them to the Merging reseller network.’
