Disco Ícaro

Disco Ícaro in Conil de la Frontera has provided the stage for DAS Audio’s Sound Force systems recent Spanish debut. The much-anticipated relaunch of the Cadiz coast hotspot includes revamped décor, lighting, video and sound – providing an unmissable showcase for the Sound Force range.

Designed specifically for high-end venues where powerful sound and a striking visual design are required, the system’s supply and installation was handled by local company Cotelson.

With Andrés Sánchez at the helm, the Cotelson sound technicians analyzed the venue’s specific requirements and recommended the installation of a system drawn from DAS Audio’s high-end Sound Force dance club systems. To guarantee the required level and quality of sound throughout Disco Ícaro, the technicians opted to install two SF-221 high-power loudspeakers coupled with two hangs with two SF-215 bass-mid systems and a SF-112 three-way system each.

The combined power of the Sound Force systems deliver in excess of 14kW RMS power handling coupled with a cutting-edge visual design for an effective, stunning sound solution that has quickly become one of the venue’s biggest attractions.

The signal for the main system is handled by high-performance DAS Audio D Series amplifiers, professional power amplification for the most demanding applications. A DAS DSP-4080 digital signal processor was also installed to take care of signal monitoring and management duties.

A number of DAS RF-12.85 systems were also brought in and installed as far away as possible from the main system to serve as a delay, providing end-to-end coverage for the dancefloor. The sound technicians recommended using DAS Artec 526 systems to eliminate any acoustically ‘dark’ areas on the main floor, and topped off the RF and Artec systems with D Series amplifiers and a DSP-226 digital signal processor.

The system has quickly won the nightclub a reputation for some of the best sound around. Holding strong on Cadiz’s party circuit after its head-to-toe makeover, Disco Ícaro is anticipating a successful summer season complete with spectacular weekly DJ sessions and a full house every night of the week.
