Futureworks School of Media has a new Avid M40 S6 control surface, supplied and installed HHB Communications.
Located in Manchester’s Media Hub, Futureworks provides world-class education and training in Sound, Music Production, Film & TV, Games, Animation and Visual Effects. Purpose-built premises with state-of-the-art studios and high-spec production facilities are under continuous review, in line with industry trends – a process that led to the replacement of an Avid D-Control Icon in the main film mixing studio with a large-format Avid S6. The system is a 32-fader M40 configuration in a 7ft frame. Also supplied was an Avid MTRX audio interface frame, set up to provide surround sound monitoring.
Working with the Head of the school and Avid Pro Tools Master Instructor Rob Magoolagan, HHB installed and commissioned the S6 over two days. ‘Futureworks students have the edge when it comes to working with industry current technology,’ he says. ‘Our new Avid S6 Cinema Studio keeps them in sync with global mixing for picture trends and workflow.’
‘Futureworks’ audio facilities are very impressive, offering students the most up to date technology in a world class studio environment,’ says HHB Group Sales Director, Steve Angel. ‘With dedicated Pro Tools courses the Avid S6 is a perfect addition to the schools already comprehensive list of studio equipment.’
