Daily’s Place is an outdoor amphitheatre connected to the south end of EverBank Field football stadium in Downtown Jacksonville, Florida. Sharing space with a ‘flex field’ indoor practice facility for the Jacksonville Jaguars, sound throughout the space was a crucial consideration for its management.

Daily’s Place Florida Sound Engineering provides A/V design, installation, and service of commercial audio and video systems for a variety of venues and was contracted to install the new sound reinforcement system at Daily’s Place. Senior Project Manager Neil Cooper handles system design and engineering, sales, project management, and serves as a technician for Florida Sound Engineering.

‘The sound reinforcement set-up a large distributed system,’ he explains. ‘We used a combination of 24 DAS Audio Artec 315.96 two-way, passive enclosures and HQ-218CX sub bass enclosures. ‘The loudspeakers were actually chosen by our client. Once we had them installed and tuned, I was very impressed. Both speech intelligibility and music reproduction characteristics are very good and natural sounding. Frequency response from the system is very even and, from a construction standpoint, the DAS equipment is very solid and well made.

‘The loudspeakers are spaced evenly throughout the area and are mounted to the facility’s structural supports at a height of about 80 feet,’ he continues. ‘Similarly, the subwoofers are evenly spread around the area and mounted up high. For the actual loudspeaker positioning, we had custom mounting brackets made to affix the loudspeakers to the main roof support beams of the flex field facility

The installation at Daily’s Place ran from mid-June through mid-July, and Cooper reports it to be is working well: ‘The sound is very clear, and coverage is even throughout all areas. This, of course, makes our client very pleased with his decision to deploy DAS DAS Audio’s loudspeaker build quality, their support services, and the overall sound of the equipment is first rate. It’s been a very positive experience.’
