The first institution in Paraguay to adopt Powersoft’s Unica fixed-installation amplifier platform, the Ueno Bank has completed a major audio system upgrade at its headquarters in national capital Asunción. The bank’s national network of more than 70 branches have also been equipped with Powersoft technology in the form of its half-size Mezzo install amplifiers.
Both projects were designed and implemented by Asunción-based DCI (Diseño, Control e Integracion) in collaboration with Powersoft’s Paraguay distributor, Aulux. The companies are both headed by Andrei Popow and Martin Martinez, whose team built on Popow’s longstanding business relationship with Ueno Bank to provide its HQ and regional branches with energy-efficient sound distribution courtesy of Unica, Mezzo and other Powersoft technology.
At Ueno Bank’s headquarters, DCI installed four Unica 8M 4K8, two Mezzo 322 and a single Mezzo 324 amplifier. Paired with Martin Audio loudspeakers, this centralised system draws on Powersoft Dynamic Music Distribution (DMD) to provide multi-zone audio management via four WM Touch and five WMP Level controllers. At the individual financial centres, DCI installed a Mezzo 322 amplifier and a WMP Level controller each, ensuring consistent, high-quality background music across all locations.
‘Ueno Bank needed a system that was easy to use, seamlessly integrated, and capable of managing multiple zones with minimal effort,’ says acoustic engineer Popow, CEO of Aulux and DCI. ‘The Unica platform, with its Dante-native capabilities, eight output channels and MyUniverso cloud integration, was the ideal solution for its headquarters, while Mezzo amplifiers provided a compact yet powerful option for the individual banks.’
With Powersoft’s DMD technology, DCI was able to create a flexible, multi-zone audio network which allows the bank to manage sound distribution efficiently across different floors and remote locations, such that the same background music plays simultaneously at all branches and the HQ. To further enhance usability, each floor of the HQ features a dedicated WM Touch controller, while web app functionality allows for remote control of the amplifiers via mobile devices.
Popow also notes the energy efficiency of the Unica and Mezzo systems as a crucial factor for Ueno Bank, which prioritises sustainability and holds a LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certification.
‘The sound quality, energy efficiency and flexibility of the Powersoft amplifiers platforms were key to the success of this project,’ he says. ‘The bank is extremely satisfied with the results.’
