Staged every Memorial Day and Labor Day Weekend in downtown Hermosa Beach in San Francisco, the Fiesta Hermosa festival features approximately 300 artists including painters, photographers, ceramicists, jewelers, sculptors, and handicrafters. Attracting more than 150,000 visitors, the popular weekend event featured two stages and Vue Audiotechnik line arrays.
Bell Events Services equipped the Charity Beer & Wine Garden stage with dual, groundstacked Vue Audiotechnik al-4 arrays consisting of eight elements per side, with four al-4SB subwoofers for low-frequency support. A selection of Vue hm-Class systems served monitor duty, while power and processing four al-Class line arrays came courtesy of VueDrive V4 System Engines. Allen & Heath iLive consoles handled both FOH and monitor mixes.
‘The al-4 is one of the most versatile and capable line array systems I’ve encountered,’ says Bell Events Audio Supervisor & Operations Manager, Tim Campbell. ‘It sounds spectacular well beyond SPL levels that would bring most systems this size to their knees. Plus it offers near limitless scalability. I also love the Vue subs. They give incredible output while remaining very musical, and it never sounds notched or boxy.
‘We’ve been using Vue systems since the company’s beginning. We literally feel like we’re part of the family,’ he adds. ‘As more people hear what these systems can do, word-of-mouth is driving demand, and our business is benefiting as a result. It’s very exciting to be on the ground floor of the next big thing.’
Bell Event’s al-Class line arrays are well booked, with numerous festival and corporate showings in the coming months, including Monterey Car Week, the Buena Park and El Segundo Concert in the Park Series, and the Fiesta Hermosa Labor Day weekend celebration.
