The Raspberry Pi Foundation recently installed two Shure Microflex Advance MXA910 Ceiling Array Microphone with IntelliMix DSP at its headquarters in Cambridge, UK, in order to provide clear audio for its daily meetings and other events.
Created to help people understand the digital world, the UK-based charity required a multi-functional, reliable microphone system for a single, large collaboration space, with the option of dividing it into smaller spaces without compromising sound quality.
Using two MXA910s, the foundation can configure the microphones for complete coverage and ensure optimum capture of the talker when connecting with their UK and International sites or for two smaller events happening simultaneously such as their Code Club and Raspberry Jam social events. With both spaces attended primarily by children, the system needed to offer excellent audio while being efficient and effective in its performance.
A/V specialist Snelling Business Systems assisted with the project, delivering a system that offers a natural sound for presentations and audio conferencing, with two Shure MXA910 ceiling array microphones integral to the overall performance.
‘As an international charity, Raspberry Pi need to communicate with members and teams from all over the world,’ says Snelling Business Systems Sales Director, Steve Royans. ‘A system that provides exceptional audio was needed, while also being versatile enough to perform in internal applications such as presentations to younger audiences. The Shure MXA910 ceiling array microphones captures the natural sound required absolutely perfectly.’
