The Studios at Linden Oaks in Rochester, NY has installed a 32-channel API 2448 mixing console in its Studio A space.
A recording facility that hosts clients from world-renowned recording artists and commercial clients including HBO, General Motors and NBC, as well as recording projects for faculty and students of the Eastman School of Music, the installation follows Studios at Linden Oaks need for a versatile console that would suit a wide expanse of sonic needs.
‘For the past ten years, our facility has been using a 32-fader DAW control surface, along with a smaller analogue console,’ says Linden Oaks Chief Engineer/Studio Manager, Steve Forney. ‘It was a great hybrid system for some projects, but a real challenge for tracking larger ensembles with live players.
‘Our API 2448 solves that challenge with in-line signal path architecture, excellent routing flexibility, DAW control, automation and of course, legendary API sound. Thanks to the kind folks at Gold-Diggers and RSPE Audio Solutions in Los Angeles, I was able to test drive their 2448 desk and was immediately impressed with not only the ‘big board’ feel and unmistakable API sound, but also the value. We couldn’t be happier with our choice of the 32-channel 2448.’
