Will Young’s new An Evening with Will Young show visited 21 cities around the UK throughout October, with audio infrastructure provided by Capital Sound Hire following the release of his seventh studio album Lexicon in June.
Shortly after the final date, Capital Senior Project Manager, Martin Connolly remarked: ‘The Will Young tour has just completed, and the Superfly system we supplied was faultless throughout. Will Young proved he is a consummate performer with a show that was uplifting, humorous and exciting with a great punchy band; the entire show looked and sounded wonderful.’
Capital deployed part of its Outline inventory for the tour, comprising 24 Outline Superfly 210 Line Array cabinets, 12 Outline GTO-Subs and six Outline LIPF-082 two-way stage lip fills. The entire system was powered by Powersoft X8 amplifiers, with system control by a single Outline Newton FPGA processor.
‘I found Superfly to be a powerful line array for the size of the box, with great clarity and throw in the high end,’ says Systems Engineer for the project, Dan Fathers. ‘With a lot of these venues I could also fly the maximum amount of boxes with it being so light. Having the Newton processing at the front end made it easy if I needed to do a groundstack with flown configuration.’
‘Superfly is a phenomenal studio monitor in line array format,’ adds FOH engineer, Matteo Cifelli. ‘Incredible detail and long throw consistency.’
