Based in Rome, Georgia, Ready Or Not is a mid-sized, full-service production company that handles audio, lighting, video and mobile stage production, and also designs and installs corporate AVL systems.
Recently, Ready or Not President Lee Shealy expanded his company’s inventory with the purchase of aVue audiotechnik al-8 acoustic linearity line array and hs-221 subs.
The new system has allowed Ready Or Not to cover larger venues, including a local arena that seats around 3,500. The first event with the al-8 rig was for an anticipated crowd of 2,500 but that attracted almost 7,000. The al-8 arrays had no problem covering the larger-than-expected crowd with sound described as ‘remarkable’.
And when CMT’s Redneck Island reality show cast member-turned country singer Riley Green came to play the arena, Ready or Not was there with the Vue al-8 line array making big impressions on Green’s FOH engineer.
‘The consistency of sound colour from small to large format was impressive,’ Shealy reports. ‘The big boxes are louder and a bit more in-your-face, but as a whole, the entire line is very balanced and musical. I get the ‘musical’ remark a lot from audio engineers.’
Having established a track record at the local arena and various outdoor events, Shealy and his Ready Or Not crew are set for whatever the summer concert season brings.
