Located in Capas, Tarlac, in the Philippines, the 20,000-capacity New Clark City Athletics Stadium recently hosted the athletic events and closing ceremony of the 30th Southeast Asian Games in December 2019. It is also home to a new Outline Stadia PA system installed by local distributor, Amigo Entertainment Technologies, Inc.

New Clark City Athletics Stadium Amigo also installed an Outline Stadia PA in the Olympic Grade Class 1 multi-purpose venue’s IAAF-certified Class 1 Aquatics Center adjacent to the Athletics Stadium, designed by Philippine architects Budji + Royal

Amigo was established in 1979, under the name First Audio Resources & Management Corporation, providing audio and visual technology for commercial and industrial applications. The company continues to lead the field with innovative ventures, including ongoing major projects such as the SM Group of Companies, Okada Casino Resort Hotel, Alloy MTD Philippines, Department of Tourism Philippines. The company’s portfolio of projects now extends beyond the Philippines to include Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, Maldives, Singapore, Guam, Vietnam and the US.

‘Throughout our years of intensive research and growth in our industry, we have developed a premium line of products and services to suit every client’s needs,’ says Amando Nieva Zamora, chairman and CEO of Amigo, who is a specialist in various aspects of entertainment operations. ‘We now supply audio, video, lighting, sfx and sports facility equipment, as well as providing services such as AVL integration, software development and electrical design and installation.’

Outline Stadia 100 LA enclosureUnder the hinged roof of the Athletics Stadium – that takes inspiration from the crater of the country’s Mount Pinatubo volcano – the Outline system comprises 30 Outline Stadia 100 LA enclosures powered by eight Outline GTA Otto (Dante) power amplifiers,

The installation uses three two-way loudspeaker modules with similar dimensions, identical horizontal directivity (100°) and either 10°, 20° or 30° vertical dispersion, ensuring coverage for any location requirements.

‘To handle this key project, which featured some challenging aspects, such as the fact that the building consists almost entirely in acoustically reflective products such as steel and glass, we decided to install an Outline rig for the Italian manufacturer’s proven leadership in the audio field and the fact that we are familiar with the systems’ quality, thanks to fundamental feature for a venue of this class, type and size, such as their high intelligibility and extreme precision, even when very long throws are involved,’ Zamora says.
