A hub for content creators and storytellers, Tenderfoot.TV was founded by director and independent filmmaker Payne Lindsey and music industry veteran Donald Albright, and specialises in true-crime podcasts including Up and Vanished, Sworn and Atlanta Monster, telling compelling stories in an engaging fashion. Key to making that happen is the company’s use of the Scarlett 2i2 audio interface from Focusrite.
‘The Scarlett 2i2 is affordable and portable and incredibly easy to use, so it’s become part of our start-up podcast kit that we provide to our producers,’ says Mason Lindsey, Producer for Tenderfoot.TV and a producer of Sworn, the sister podcast of Up and Vanished, as well as main coordinator of Up and Vanished: Live events.
‘No matter what level a producer is at in terms of technical knowledge, the Scarlett is totally user friendly,’ says Lindsey. ‘They can figure it out within minutes, and it never lets them down.’
Two of Tenderfoot.TV’s three Scarlet 2i2 units are used regularly in the field, while the third is assigned to the company’s Atlanta, Georgia, facility. Lindsey says that as Tenderfoot.TV continues to expand, the Scarlett 2i2 will remain a core component of its audio signal chain. ‘The Scarlett 2i2 does everything we need it to, and it does it flawlessly,’ he says. ‘It would be hard to improve on perfection.’
