The CloudPower series of amplifiers from Apex are to be distributed in the UK and Ireland by FBT Audio (UK) Ltd. The appointment comes as FBT Audio (UK) Ltd reports continued growth in its commercial audio division despite the Covid-19 pandemic.
Combining cloud-based remote control with GlidePath circuit architecture, the Apex CloudPower amplifier line was launched in 2020. Each model is designed for browser-based operation via the cloud. The amplifiers also claim measurable reductions in distortion for a improved audio performance courtesy of their GlidePath architecture, which integrates the amplifier and DSP circuits.
Described as capable of scaling from ‘a karaoke room to an opera house’, the range comprises four 1U-high class-D models – the 4 x 350W CP354, 4 x 700W CP704, 4 x 1.5kW CP1504 and 4 x 3kW CP3004. Each is lightweight and compact, and can run in low impedance down to 2Ω or 70/100v line configuration. Also onboard is feature rich DSP plus a built-in WiFi hotspot for simple set up, control and monitoring either locally using any HTML5 capable browser (Mac, PC, iOS or Android), or off-site using the built-in LAN connection.
