LEA Professional has announced the implementation of 802.1X security protocol for its Connect Series amplifiers.
‘Security has been central to our work at LEA from the beginning,’ says LEA Director of Application Engineering & Consultant Relations, Professional, Bradley Drummond.
This new feature further protects data and equipment from cyber attacks, while also preventing rogue devices from connecting to the local network and releasing viruses, malware, or allowing man-in-the-middle attacks.
802.1X is an IEEE Standard for Port-Based Network Access Control that provides protected authentication for devices on the network, and provides secure network access. It is presently the highest standard of network authentication security, and defines authentication controls for any user or device trying to access a LAN or WLAN.
‘We have always set out to design and produce products that are built with reliability and certainty in mind. 802.1X takes our product security to the next level, which, is particularly important for financial institutions, tech companies, governments and other organisations with stringent network security policies,’ Drummond says. ‘Now, when our customers win jobs that require 802.1X authentication, they can continue to depend on LEA products for amplification and they won’t have to look for alternative products.’
