Bluetooth SIG reckons that its Bluetooth LE Audio is the next generation of wireless audio streaming, with features that beckon new market and product creation for forward-thinking companies.
Accordingly, the Namm and InfoComm 2022 shows see the launch of LE Audio Launchpad, an online resource for Bluetooth LE Audio wireless streaming, supported by Inline Audio. ‘This is the beginning of a fundamentally new wireless audio paradigm, and an opportunity to create the enabling products that will revolutionise many aspects of our everyday lives,’ says Inline Audio Founder and CEO, Al Walker.
From hearing aids and wearables for augmented and virtual reality offering greater intelligibility and longer battery life, public information systems offering simultaneous announcements in multiple languages, to the reimagination of live entertainment, LE Audio promises to redefine wireless audio streaming experiences.
For its part, LE Audio has introduced Multi-Stream Audio that enables the transmission of multiple, independent, synchronised audio streams between an audio source device and one or more audio sink devices. Using this new feature, developers can improve the performance of truly wireless earbuds, including a better stereo imaging experience, more seamless voice control services, and smoother switching between multiple audio source devices, such as when a headset is simultaneously connected to both a smartphone and laptop.
LE Audio is also adding support for Broadcast Audio, a new feature that enables an audio source device to broadcast a stream to an unlimited number of Bluetooth audio sink devices in either mono or stereo. Audio broadcasts can be open, allowing any in-range sink device to participate, or secured, where only those sink devices with the correct passkey can participate.
Inline Audio offers a brand and product launch pad for the professional audio industry, promising to ‘go beyond existing product categories to create original design concepts with and for those who share our values and commitment to innovation’.
As well as providing an introductory overview of LE Audio, the new web resource aims to provide a variety of original content to promote its adoption of across multiple market segments and user applications. It will explore applications for LE Audio to inspire new and innovative product ideas, take a deep dive into the technical aspects, as well as share first-hand experience of LE Audio hardware and software development.
As a Bluetooth SIG Adopter Member and an active participant in the development of LE Audio technology applications, Inline Audio is well placed to help companies gain an early advantage in the emerging market for LE Audio products. With a mutual non-disclosure agreement policy, companies can talk in confidence about realising next generations of wireless products leveraging LE Audio technology. In conjunction with a manufacturing partner, Inline Audio can provide a product development service from initial concept to production and shipment.’
