Sound Particles released four further translations of its free All You Need To Know About 3D Audio eBook, adding French, German, Korean and Spanish to the existing English, Chinese and Japanese versions.
The Portuguese company has also released a video series summarising the most relevant information on the topic. Running for just over an hour, this covers channel-based audio, object-based audio, Ambisonics and binaural immersive audio formats.
‘3D Sound is the future and the last big challenge in audio,’ says Sound Particles CEO and founder, Nuno Fonseca. ‘Yes, it may be a little confusing for someone to understand all the formats that currently exist, but the goal of this eBook and video series is to give people the initial push, allowing everyone to start working on this new creative field.’
Recognised for its 3D audio software, Sound Particles reports that the ‘complete and easy-to-read guide’ has been downloaded almost 10 000 times, and aims to offer sound enthusiasts a means of finding out all they need to know in a single resource.
The guide has been written by former university professor (computer science and music technology areas), Fonseca, who is also is the author of the Portuguese book Introdução à Engenharia de Som (Introduction to Sound Engineering), co-author of the Portuguese book Desenvolvimento em iOS (iOS Development), and author of more than 20 papers regarding audio research.
