Telling the story of the Polish city of Rzeszów from the perspective of historic cellars beneath the streets, the Rzeszow Cellars Underground Tourist Route now offers a 5D multimedia experience, involving thematic quizzes and arcade games, that guide travellers through its legends and historical events.
Visitors also have the opportunity to see the blueprints for the construction of the Central Industrial Region and learn about the post-war industry of Rzeszów, as well as cultural and sports achievements linked to the city.
The reopening is the result of a restoration project that began in the 1970s, and now involves a unique system of corridors running under the city’s Rzeszów Market Square. The route of the underground galleries is 396 m long, includes 25 cellars, and 15 corridors that reach 10m deep into the ground.
A complex project such as this requires an adequately designed sound system – a role taken by Tommex (an RCF Installed Audio official distributor) who devised and delivered a complete solution, including the electroacoustic system on a Dante network. The wide variety of rooms of Rzeszow Cellars required a different approach for each space, requiring the selection of appropriate loudspeakers.
Throughout the space, and along the tour route, a complete range of RCF loudspeakers, including the RCF Business Music line, are now installed. Wall-mounted loudspeakers include WMF 33EN, MQ 50i, MQ 60H, MR 40 and MQ 80P models, with MF 33EN, and PL 8X serving as ceiling speakers. In key spaces, the system is also supported by RCF MQ 90S subwoofers.
The attraction includes an underground cinema with a 5.1 sound system based on RCF Compact M10 loudspeakers and S 12 subwoofers.
