Aster Sound is the personal PhantomFocus MixRoom opened by Adam David Smith, Lead PhantomFocus Installation Engineer for Carl Tatz Design (CTD)
Installed in an unused space in his home in Nashville, the facility has been a long-term goal for Smith, who has installed many PhantomFocus Systems (PFS) across the country – and, now, having his own is a dream come true.
I think Adam, who does such meticulous work installing our monitor systems, was understandably both spoiled by the PFS and at the same time, frustrated to have to come back to his modest studio and make do for his mix projects. So, I m really happy for him now that he has the real deal to work in, says Carl Tatz, award-nominated studio designer and PhantomFocus creator.
Smith, who chose a pair of PFM HD-1000 Master Reference Monitors for Aster Sound, says: Unsurprisingly, I work faster with more confidence producing better and more consistent mixes – and have a lot more fun. Like all PF MixRooms, Aster Sound is very comfortable to work in for long hours both sonically and environmentally. Even though my MixRoom has a relatively compact footprint, it feels like a larger room due to Carl s architectural and acoustic design.
