Following a series of partnership announcements around the 2011 IBC, Spanish broadcasting equipment manufacturer AEQ has become the latest supporter of the Ravenna open-standard media networking technology.
‘To offer solutions that will render simplicity and cost efficiency to any broadcast application is, and has always been, the prime objective to AEQ,’ says Rogelio de la Fuente, AEQ President and CEO. ‘Having a long track record in the field of audio encoding, we have also always sought the maximum compatibility with other manufacturers, guaranteeing maximum flexibility to customers. Being committed to continue offering standard and non-propriety solutions to the world broadcasting community, we took the strategic decision to implement IP for its audio networking solutions in 2006. AEQ is also adopting the EBU N/ACIP recommendations for AoIP contributions over WANs, taking actively part in the working group.
‘With AEQ, the Ravenna community has gained another important member,’ says Andreas Hildebrand, Senior Product Manager of Ravenna developer, ALC NetworX. ‘The company’s product portfolio and commitment to compatibility are a welcome addition to the growing spectrum of future Ravenna-enabled solutions, designated to match the demanding needs of today’s broadcast industry. The growing support for the Ravenna community underlines the strong demand for an IP-based media distribution solution based on open technology and standards.’
