Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB) President Ezzatollah Zarghami announced the broadcaster’s aim to launch eight digital television channels.
The plan was revealed at a recent conference in Tehran, where he revealed that the new channels will cover a wide range of entertainment, news, educational and scientific programmes.
The move also follows the recent launched of IRIB’s first teleshopping channel which offers a range of Iranian products to consumers. Zarghami also insisted that Iranian content creators had great potential to produce a variety of programmes.
