The fruit of two years’ work and RM100m (US$31.4m) investment, Radio Televisyen Malaysia (RTM) is preparing to go live with its new integrated news centre.
With little work remaining, the Kuala Lumpur facility is on course for completion on 21 January 2012. The five-storey building will serve as the centre for broadcast of news and current affairs. It will also house archives and the administrative office of RTM staff.
The centre will bring the broadcaster into line with current broadcat practice and technology. ‘Thus is realised the dream of the ministry and the government to establish the infrastructure for reporting,’ says Information, Communications & Culture Minister, Rais Yatim.
