With prize draws beamed across Argentina to all of its casino halls a music show at the La Punta Hippodrome, featuring singer Abel Pintos and 15-piece band La Konga in front of a 48,000-strong audience, leisure company Grupo Slots’ annual event was quite an undertaking.
To hande live sound for the concert, rental company Wanzo Producciones turned to dBTechnologies’ DVA T12 and T4 line arrays. The set-up comprised 16 DVA T12 and 16 DVA T4 elements, with a further eight DVA T4 boxes used as outfill. ‘The result was excellent,’ reports company owner Sebastian Wanzo. ‘Everyone was impressed with the clarity as well as the dispersion of the sound.’
The firm’s audio team had tested the newest dBTechnologies line array at smaller venues, but this was the first large event using DVA T12, and Wanzo wasn’t disappointed: ‘DVA T12 and T4 integrated very well together,’ Wanzo says. ‘With the short throw of the DVA T4 and the long throw of the T12 together in one system, it gave us optimum coverage.’
‘It’s easy to add to an existing DVA system, as DVA T12 is compatible with the T4. For example, both systems’ driver sections are in line so that they generate phase-correct, high-frequency additions allowing T4 to serve as down-fill extensions in large systems,’explains dBTechnologies Export Area Manager, Fernando Roitman.
The event was supported by local distribution partner Todomusica, which in the space of little more than a year has been instrumental in bringing the dBTechnologies brand into the spotlight in Argentina. ‘Thanks to Todomusica we are able to reach important customers like Wanzo Producciones which helps us realise big projects and further establish the brand in this market,’ says Todomusica Business Development Manager, Giovanni Barbieri.
Following the success of the event, Wanzo is keen to make sure DVA T4 and T12 are fully used: ‘We have a lot of projects in the pipeline, including the San Luis Rio Carnival, and we intend use dBTechnologies,’ Wanzo says. ‘The brand is a great success in Argentina and we have ensured that some of the best artists of the country have already used its products.’
