On Technology Hong Kong has completed the sale and installation of three Merging Technologies VCube HD video recorders into Touches Ltd & End Point Ltd.

Representing the first stage of a migration from tape-based to tapeless workflow for the facility, three VCube HD Recorder systems have been integrated into the studio’s existing network, together with Lightworks HD, FCP, After Effects suites and client presentation studio. The move will provide a significant step forward from the linear, tape-based recorders which the facility has been using.

Established in 1987 by Nelson Ng Fong Lim and Adrian Brady, the Touches Ltd and End Point Ltd offices provide advertising and other creative video postproduction services for film and TV.

‘Merging Technology’s VCubeHD is a perfect replacement of tape-base workflow,’ says Touches Chief Engineer, Sunny Cheng. ‘Not limited to its features, flexibility and reliability, it's also very cost-effective. Eventually, the only solution for us.’
