The Institute of Professional Sound (IPS) has announced details of its annual training weekend.
Being held in February 2012 at the National Film & Television School in the UK, the weekend will comprise two day-long workshops On Saturday, the focus will be on audio for outside broadcast at the London 2012 Games (comms and links), while Sunday’s event will cover live music production and mixing, with a variety of live bands.
‘This is our first training weekend as the Institute of Professional Sound [IPS was formerly the Institute of Broadcast Sound] and it reflects our wider focus on the work of audio professionals in all fields, not just broadcast,’ says IPS Chairman Simon Bishop.
‘Anyone working with audio for broadcast from the London 2012 Games — or anyone who would like to work at similar large-scale events — will find Saturday’s workshop and discussions invaluable, while Sunday’s event is designed to give practical experience to the growing numbers of our membership that do occasional or regular work in the field of live sound.
