Adding four Fulcrum Acoustic US221 dual 21-inch subwoofers powered by a single Powersoft K20 DSP+ETH amplifier has given Oregon-based AGI.Inc’s shows a low-end boost.
‘The first couple of shows we did using the new subs and amplifier absolutely amazed our clients,’ explains owner, Kyle Anderson. ‘It’s hard to believe that a one rack unit can provide all of that power – the K20 is really incredible.’
AGI.Inc (Anderson Group International, Inc), regularly provides sound systems for national acts that perform in the region. In addition, the company works with Christian artists at a local level as well as providing sound production for regional festivals and corporate events.
The two-channel Powersoft K20 – providing 2.7kW/channel at 8Ω, 5.2kW/channel at 4Ω and 9kW/channel at 2Ω – supplies ample headroom for the new subwoofer system. Equipped with the optional KDSP board that provides a suite of digital signal processing, the unit is further enhanced with the inclusion of the optional KAESOP Ethernet/AES3 interface. Together they offer sound shaping and system management remotely controllable via Powersoft Armonía Pro Audio Suite software.
‘We wouldn’t have used Powersoft if we didn’t think it was better than anything else available,’ adds Anderson. ‘We plan on upgrading our monitor system next and will be using Powersoft amplifiers there, too.
‘The incredible thing is how many amps you don’t need when using Powersoft – I’m looking forward to throwing away racks. Who knows? Maybe I can even downsize my truck...’
