Following extensive trials and appraisals, Sky News is to re-equip all of its ENG cameras with Wisycom radio microphone systems supplied by Raycom.
Sky will be taking almost 200 channels worth of MCR42 slot-in receivers and a selection of matching hand-held, beltpack and plug-on transmitters.
‘The Wisycom equipment performed very well against other manufacturers, it is robust, has good range and is very user friendly in both operation and bandwidth,’ says Sky News Head of Cameras, George Davies.
Raycom is also supplying Sky News with DPA Microphones models for some of the systems – these have come through Sound Network, who provided Raycom with 42 4060 miniature mics, along with associated clips and windshields.
‘We are delighted that Sky News have chosen the Wisycom systems for such an important role,’ says Raycom's Pyers Easton. ‘It is a glowing testament to the quality and innovation that Wisycom bring to bear in this field. We are looking forward to signing the deal at the BE in London .’
