Dubai-based Almoe AV Productions has taken Sound Devices’ PIX 240 field video recorder.
Supplied by local distributor NMK, the PIX 240 (launched at the 2011 NAB show along with the PIX 220) enables the Almoe video department to directly record a video feed from video cameras over HD-SDI to either a CompactFlash card or hard drive, and to quickly move the content to a postproduction suite.
‘Since Sound Devices has a strong background in production audio recorders, the PIX recorders not only prove to be great video recorders but they also include recording with the highest audio performance,’ says Shajahan KK, Sound Devices Product Manager at NMK. ‘Almoe AV Productions will find that its workflow more efficient and its productions will benefit in terms of quality with the purchase of the PIX240.’
The PIX Series is part of Sound Devices foray into HD video recording with the PIX 220 and PIX 240. The Quicktime recording may be in either Apple ProRes or Avid DNxHD via HDMI or HD-SDI, allowing professional production teams to interface with any high-definition video camera and more importantly be ready for the most popular editorial workflows.
